Elementary Teacher801-610-8189Hi, my name is Keisha Wilson. I was born and raised in Idaho Falls, Idaho and recently moved here to Utah. My husband and I have been married for two years. I recently graduated from BYU-Idaho with a degree in Marriage and Family Studies and Psychology. I have worked with children with disabilities for several years and I absolutely love my job! I have many hobbies and love knitting, needlepointing, reading, hiking, fishing, and any thing that involves being outside. I am also a huge sports fun especially of softball, hockey, and soccer.

I graduated from Brigham Young University-Idaho with a degree in Special Education Generalist K-12 in 2016 and student taught at Kauri Sue Hamilton in a secondary setting. I grew up in Colorado and Montana and have lived in Utah since 2017. I have always wanted to be a Special Education Teacher and it is my passion! When I am not teaching, I am the proud aunt of 5 nieces and nephews and spend most of my free time with them.
Ages 18-22Post-High Teacher801-610-8189My name is Aubrey Whiting and I will be teaching one of the life skills post high classes. I have been teaching special education for 10 years and this is my second year at Dan Peterson. I graduated from University of Utah in severe special education and later went to Utah State to get my MEd in special education and administration. I love teaching students life skills and the skills they will need to be successful and as independent as possible in life! I have an amazing husband and 3 kiddos that keep me on my toes at home. When I'm not at school I love to camp, hike, be outside doing just about anything, read and learn more about the things my kids are interested in (right now vacuums and perfecting a homemade chocolate chip muffin recipe).

Grades 4-6Elementary Teacher(801) 610-8189Hi! My name is Rachel Shelton and I am thrilled to be starting my career here at Dan Peterson. I am a recent graduate of Utah State University where I graduated with a bachelors degree in Special Education with a double emphasis in severe disabilities and early childhood special education. I am certified to teach from birth to age 22, and throughout my schooling and previous employment I have taught in preschool, elementary, junior high, high school and post high settings. I am excited now to focus on my 4-6th graders and to get to know them and help them learn and grow and meet their goals. I grew up in Lindon, Utah but have lived in several places the last couple of years including Rexburg Idaho, Lima Peru, and Logan Utah. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my friends outdoors, hiking and camping, listening to music, reading a good book and spending time with my family.

Elementary Teacher(801) 610-8189Grades 1-3 My name is Carol Ruud- don't worry, I am not rude. I was born in Phoenix, Arizona and attended Arizona State University receiving a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. I wanted to be an FBI agent. After getting married in March of 1990 and graduating 9 months later, I began my career as a legal technician for the Department of Justice, being assigned to the Drug Enforcement Administration. A few years later, I decided to resign and be a stay-at-home mom. I have four children whom I love dearly. I needed to go back to work a few years later and started working as a social worker, which led me to Special Education. I love working in the school setting and getting to know the students. I love to sing, dance, and exercise (running mostly). I am an avid reader and will read most anything, but particularly love Science Fiction/Fantasy. My favorite food is ice-cream and one of my favorite quotes is "bloom where you are planted." I look forward to working at Dan Peterson this next year and getting to know everyone!
Grades 10-12High School(801) 610-8189I am very excited to be teaching this year at the Dan Peterson School. As a graduate of Texas A&M University, I have been teaching for 19 years. Most of those years being in the greater Houston area where I have taught behavior classes, resource math, inclusion, and social studies. I am looking forward to the challenges and rewards this new population of students will bring. I believe that all students can and will learn and grow. When not at work you will find me hanging out with my family, reading, or hiking.

Junior High Teacher801-610-8189Hello! My name is Nathan, or Nate, or hey you, or oh no it's him again. I will be teaching the class that is more medically fragile/has multiple disabilities on the Middle School level. I grew up in Sandy for most of my life and grew to love teaching by the end of it (though I was SET on Music Education). After serving an LDS mission to Sierra Leone in West Africa, I saw the light and moved to Special Education. I graduated from BYU in Special Ed- Severe/Profound in 2015 and have never regretted it! I also am in school to get my master's degree in administration as well. This will be my second year here at Dan Peterson, and my fifth year teaching total. I have been happily married for six years, and my wife and I have two wonderful children, a boy and a girl. Music is such a huge part of my life, and I always have music playing everywhere. I love reading, playing with my kids and being OUTSIDE. All in all, I'd like to think of myself as a fun person and I am SO excited to be working with your child!

Junior High Teacher801-610-8189My name is Robert Johnson and I’m excited to be your student’s Junior High Teacher for the upcoming school year. This is my second-year teaching at Dan Peterson School and love working with the students and parents. I graduated from Brigham Young University- Idaho with a bachelor’s degree in Special Education and received my master degree from Western Governors University. I am certified to teach severe and mild to moderate special needs students. I love helping the students explore and develop life skills that will help them for the rest of their life. I have a great passion for teaching and kids. I grew up in St. Louis, Missouri and love going home and spending time with family. Everyone in my family still lives in St. Louis except for me. My family life consists of my wonderful wife who I have been married to for 11 years now. I have three girls and 2 boys. I did have a new baby boy on May 4th. When I am not teaching or planning things for class, I keep myself busy by officiating sports. I referee football and baseball at the varsity level for the state of Utah and have done it for four years now. I have always strived for perfection, which has transferred from my officiating to the classroom. I can’t wait to spend the next year learning and growing with you!

Ages 18-22Post-High Teacher(801) 610-8189I moved back to Utah County just over a year ago. Last year I worked at Timberline Middle school and loved the experiences I had there. I am looking forward to working with your student in transition at Dan Peterson. I have 4 children, two girls and two boys, and 6 grandchildren.
